In order to get a quick activation please use a non free email account EG: the one your server provider gave you (Johnsmith@bt.com) etc. Hotmail, yahoo, and any other free email accounts are used by spam bots so will be deleted by the scripts installed. This shouldn't effect current members who have joined with free accounts.
